A CHOIR from North Carolina is coming to St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church to perform a fundraising concert for Galway Simon.

Cancers Survivors Choir Something to Sing About are the latest choral singers to sign up for Choirfactor- Galway’s own X Factor style choral competition.

The Marine Institute Singers were singing on high after emerging victorious in the inaugural Galway Choirfactor Competition which took place in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Friday April 12. Organised by the Corrib Lions Club as a fundraising initiative for Kilcuan Retreat Centre in Clarinbridge, the event attracted a capacity audience of more than 700 people.

The Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir, which is under the auspices of The Academy of Music Tullamore, claimed three prizes last week at the Kiltimagh Choral Festival under their conductor Ciarán Brady.
